PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR 15 DAYS

1. Day 18th of July: Reykjavik Arriving in Iceland, our guides will welcome you at the airport in Keflavík and bring you to your Hotel. Overnight staying in Reykjavík.
2. Day 19th of July: Reykjavík The day is dedicated to the city of Reykjavík at your leisure. Possibly to enjoy a walk around the centre, places to visit: Hallgrímskirkja the largest church in Iceland go to the top and enjoy the view over the city, the city hall (Ráðhús Reykjavíkur), the pond, Laugavegur the main shopping street, or just visit one of the museum´s and sense the atmosphere in this colorful and northernmost capital of the world. Overnight staying in same Hotel in Reykjavik.
3. Day 20th of July Reykjavík-Vík Starting of the trip with a first stop in the Geothermal Plant at Hellisheiði the power plant provides the 67% of Iceland population electricity and hot and cold water. Next stop is the beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss close to the newest eruptions in Iceland Eyjafjallajökull 2010. Next there is Skógar where you can visit a museum and take a walk up to the waterfall Skógarfoss. You will enjoy the small peninsula Dyrhólaey which is a great place to photograph birds like Puffins, Seagulls and more. Reynisdrangar black basalt columns sculpted by the sea the black sand beaches and the little village of Vik with 280 habitants. You will spend your first night in the magical surroundings of the glacier Mýrdalsjökull in a Chalet.
4. Day 21st of July Vík-Jökulsárlón After breakfast we start the day with visiting the small village of Vik with its black sand beaches. Then onto Kirkjubæjarklaustur and the National Park in Skaftafell where we take a walk up to the special waterfall Svartifoss (Black fall) it is surrounded by dark lava columns. Jökulsárlón a glacier lagoon with floating icebergs and seals in the roots of Europe´s biggest glacier Vatnajökull. The scenery is amazing and very photogenic. The night spent in Jökulsárlón in a Guesthouse.
5. Day 22nd of July Jökulsárlón-Egilsstaðir Today we will explore all the amazing fjords on the east-coast by the sea and on our way to Egilsstaðir visit the villages of Djúpivogur and Höfn. In Egilsstaðir we spend the night in a chalet by the lake Lagarfljót. The lake is 25km long and 112 m deep.
6. Day 23rd of July Egilsstaðir-Grímsstaðir After breakfast we start with visiting Hengifoss one of Iceland’s highest waterfall 118m, this is spectacular photogenic scenery. Close by is Skriðuklaustur a specially made house of Gunnar Gunnarson, one of Iceland´s favorite authors (1889-1975) Ongoing through the desert of Mörðudalur reaching Grímsstaðir a Guesthouse where we are staying for two nights.
7. Day 24th of July Grímsstaðir In the morning we take a walk in this interesting Geological area, visiting Dimmuborgir, Krafla a Geothermal power plant and Námuskarð where you can take a Nature Bath in the geothermal spa. On going through the lava of Krafla to Húsavík, the National Park in Ásbyrgi. Ásbyrgi is one of the wonders in nature, a wide horseshoe-shaped canyon with 100m high cliffs about 3,5km long and 1,1km wide, there also is Hljóðaklettar (whispering cliffs) a special basalt formation which is quit unique. Then onto Dettifoss a waterfall rated the most powerful in Europe. Overnight staying in the same accommodation as the night before.
8. Day 25th of July Askja This day is dedicated to the stratovolcano Askja this the Highland area can only be accessed few months per year, Askja biggest eruption was in 1875 and it was unknown until then, Víti is a explosion crater it contains geothermal lake opaque blue. The crater Víti was formed in the eruption in 1875, the latest eruption in Askja was 1961, and this raw nature landscape is great photographic scenery. The night is spent in a Shelter.
9. Day 26th of July Askja-Sprengisandur After a relaxing morning we drive the Highland road F910 through the amazing and special desert and lava fields of Ódáðahraun there also is Herðubreið 1682 meter high mountain, called the queen of Icelandic mountains, in the afternoon we reach our Shelter in Sprengisandur.
10. Day 27th of July Sprengisandur-Landmannalaugar Ongoing in Highlands’s extreme nature we will drive onto Landmannalaugar one of Iceland’s most beautiful and popular surroundings with its multicolored mountains, many hot and cold water spring create a bathing warm brook, where you can take a relaxing bath in this pearl of nature. Possibility to enjoy small hikes in this amazing nature. Overnight staying in a Shelter.
11. Day 28th of July Landmannalaugar-Flúðir After breakfast for few hours more we will enjoy Landmannalaugar and visit the small crater Ljóti pollur, then drive in the direction to the volcano Hekla and onto Flúðir where we will spend the night in a Guesthouse.
12. Day 29th of July Flúðir-Borgarnes From Flúðir we start to the best known places in Iceland “The Golden Circle” refers to three large attractions: Gullfoss-Geysir-Þingvellir. Gullfoss (golden fall) a beautiful waterfall and one of the largest in Iceland. Geysir, a hot spring, there close by is Strokkur that throws up hot water, on average, once every 5 min. Our last stop is the National Park Þingvellir, where the first recorded Parliament in the world was held and all the major national Icelandic events from 930AD until 1798AD. Þingvellir is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Þingvellir is also on the plate between North American and Eurasian. Borgarnes is where the night is spent in a Guesthouse.
13. Day 30th of July Borgarnes From Borgarnes we head to the peninsula of Snæfellsnes, the location of the volcano/glacier Snæfellsjökull where Jules Verne classic science fiction novel “A Journey to the Center of the Earth. Some people believe Snæfellsjökul to be one of the 7 energy source of the world. After enjoying the National Park Snæfellsjökul we return to Borgarnes for dinner and overnight staying.
14. Day 31st of July Borgarnes-Reykjavík After breakfast a visit to the special Hraunfossar (Lava falls) many small waterfalls that come steaming from underneath the lava a beautiful photo is available here, then Barnafossar another special waterfall onto the hot water spring Deildartunguhver and the cultural centre at Reykhólar. We return to Reykjavík where you will spend the evening at your own leisure, overnight staying in a Hotel in the city center.
15. Day 01st of August Reykjavík In the morning a visit to the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath and photographing. Transportation to the airport in Keflavik for your departure.
